2012: A year in photography
Garrett’s favorite photos from 2012, taken by either Garrett or Jill Gibbons for Aderyn Productions.
Persian Princess
Ara & Casey’s wedding at the Monte Cristo Ballroom was a fairytale princess event that enchanted us. Michael from Lucid Captures was a wonderful photographer to work with, and the Monte Cristo staff provided 5-star service throughout the evening. Ara was regal and graceful and Casey seemed very smitten with love for his beautiful bride. Congratulations, Ara & Casey!
A Chinese, Indian and Western wedding in Seattle
Joyce and Arif’s wedding reflected a beautiful multicultural background including Chinese, Indian and Western elements. Joyce wore no fewer than thee beautiful wedding dresses (a white Western gown, a red sari and a Xi Pao), and their first dance broke into a choreographed Bhangra routine featuring the other members of the wedding party.
The wedding vendor team worked amazingly well together. Liana Woo at Modern Seattle Weddings handled the event without creating stress for the rest of us. Siang and his assistant photographer from Lightphoria took gorgeous photos and was a pleasure to work with as always. Marc from Integral DJs was professional, friendly and amazingly good at his craft. The staff members at the beautiful Semiahmoo Resort were relaxed and helpful throughout the day.

Engagement Photos and video in Florida
Garrett filmed this wedding announcement video last week for Carlos and Techy in Miami, FL and Naples, FL. Their wedding is in Lima, Peru in September and we’re excited to be the photographers and videographers at their gala event. ¡Felicitaciones Carlos y Techy! Son una pareja sumamente cariñosa.
(I must add that Spanish love songs are much more romantic than anything I hear in English!)

Sarah & Andy
Sarah and Andy were amazing. Jill and I have been astonished at how many wonderful couples we’ve been blessed to work. We are so grateful for each couple who we’ve worked with during the last few years, as wedding photographers and videographers in Seattle.
Sarah and Andy were married at Lord Hill Farms in Snohomish, WA. Nickel Images did the photography and were awesome to work with. Pat at A Heavenly Ceremony facilitated a beautiful, touching ceremony, and Valerie at A Vibrant Wedding worked her tush off to make sure everything went smoothly.
The song in this trailer was specifically requested by Sarah, and was also the song for their first dance. We’re often asked: “How do you pick the music in your wedding trailers?” The short answer is: we don’t really pick the music. The longer answer is: when a couple doesn’t have a specific song in mind, we make a decision from their list of favorite music to be used in the full-length wedding film, based on the feel of the day, the tone of the footage, and how we feel the couple’s personalities are best represented through music.

I always get nervous before a wedding, just because I know that I could completely ruin everything if I’m not 100%. The morning of a wedding day is the worst; usually I feel more confident as the day goes on and the footage turns out, but the morning is the worst.
Sarah and her bridesmaids were getting ready while watching Bride Wars at her mom’s house. Jill and I quietly started setting up our cameras and support gear when Sarah told me that she’s been looking forward to her wedding video more than anything else about her wedding. No pressure or anything. If my fear of messing everything up at a wedding is normally at level 100, I was suddenly over 9,000. Her expression of excitement was very sweet, however, and gradually sank in as a very encouraging thought. I hope that Sarah enjoys the trailer and the full-length wedding film to come!
Britany & Mike
Britany & Mike were married on May 27 at Trophy Lake Golf and Casting in Port Orchard, WA.

They met while working together as welders, which is awesome. Instead of a unity sand or a unity candles ceremony, they did a pre-wedding unity weld! Here’s the video from that as well.
Congratulations, you two!

Spring Wedding in Spain
We were thrilled to photograph this beautiful Spanish wedding in the Cádiz province of Andalucía, on the southern coast of Europe. Ana and Craig were gracious, gorgeous and very photogenic. The families also had a great dynamic between them: her family is Spanish and his is English. We weren’t quite sure what to expect but the group was amazing!
Houston wedding in February
We’re about 50% booked for the 2012 season, with weddings in Spain, D.C., Philadelphia and Southern California! We only take on a limited number of weddings each season so we don’t reach creative burnout either while shooting or while editing. If you’re sitting on the fence about booking, please act soon because we will fill up again this year!
Meanwhile, enjoy a few photos from this beautiful February wedding in Houston, Texas!
