Spring Wedding in Spain
We were thrilled to photograph this beautiful Spanish wedding in the Cádiz province of Andalucía, on the southern coast of Europe. Ana and Craig were gracious, gorgeous and very photogenic. The families also had a great dynamic between them: her family is Spanish and his is English. We weren’t quite sure what to expect but the group was amazing!
Houston wedding in February
We’re about 50% booked for the 2012 season, with weddings in Spain, D.C., Philadelphia and Southern California! We only take on a limited number of weddings each season so we don’t reach creative burnout either while shooting or while editing. If you’re sitting on the fence about booking, please act soon because we will fill up again this year!
Meanwhile, enjoy a few photos from this beautiful February wedding in Houston, Texas!
Aderyn Productions wins the Wedding Wire 2012 Bride’s Choice award!
A happy email came this morning, telling us that we won the Wedding Wire Bride’s Choice award for photography and videography in the Seattle, WA area!
Wedding Wire is part of the Martha Stewart Weddings network, and this award reaches across a dozen or so partner wedding directories, indexes and websites and will be an enormous blessing to us as we continue to book weddings.
We are so grateful to each of you who we have been able to work with in the past. Aderyn Productions is a tiny little speck in the universe but it’s what keeps food on our table and a roof over our heads. We feel grateful to have been able to work with and meet so many wonderful couples, their families and their friends. It’s been a joy to share your stories through beautiful imagery.
To those of you who took some time from your busy day to write a Wedding Wire or Yelp review, thank you! We continue to book work based on your wonderful reviews and I know that our future clients will appreciate knowing about your experiences. We know that we’re not the perfect fit for everyone but we also know that we are exactly what some people are hoping to find. We thank you for helping to get the word out there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Kate & Andy’s surprise wedding
Kate and Andy somehow managed to plan a secret wedding without any of their siblings, parents or friends knowing (aside from a few bridesmaids and groomsmen). They had told everyone that they were eloping to Italy next month. The plan went without hitch and everyone involved had a blast!
Nanda & Joel
It’s rare that real life turns into a musical, with hundreds of people breaking into song at once. It’s rare, but it happened at Kiana Lodge in Poulsbo, WA for Nanda and Joel’s epic wedding on September 17, 2011. Enjoy!
Colleen & Jose Highlights
Colleen & Jose’s wedding on Whidbey Island on 9-10-11 was breathtaking and beautiful. They were relaxed and amazingly affectionate. The photo highlights gallery link is here.
Re-creating history
This couple wanted a re-creation of photo of their ancestors who were married on the same day, 100 years before. I literally composed the shot from the reference photo on an iPhone, and we had about 4 minutes to do the whole thing, including lights. It’s not perfect, but it’s a ton of fun!
You’ll notice that the bottom of the re-created photo includes portions of the original (the floor, his legs, her dress, the legs of the chair). There are background textures from the original in the upper portion as well. The typefaces are from the amazing misprintedtype.com. Other than that, the result came from a ton of layers, transfer mode adjustments, curves/levels tweaks, b&w channel mixing, layer masks and use of the clone stamp tool.
Sophia & Matt Trailer
Sophia and Matt had a wonderful tea ceremony followed by a traditional Catholic ceremony. Both were touching events that make me wish that all weddings had more than one ceremony. Congratulations, Sophia and Matt!!!
